Collins Garden Book Club

The Collins Garden Book Club meets at the Collins Garden Branch Library on Wednesday, October 14, to talk through The Fury, the latest novel from Alex Michaelides. It's a session hosted by the San Antonio Public Library, aimed at adults and older adults, so if you're looking for a mid-week afternoon to spend talking books with other readers in the neighborhood, this is it.

The Fury is a psychological thriller that starts with Lana Farrar, a former movie star who takes her closest friends to her private Greek island to escape the English weather. It's a classic setup—a small group of people isolated in a beautiful place—until one of them turns up murdered. From there, the story pulls back the curtain on the group, and old secrets, jealousy, and betrayal start to surface. If you're into mysteries that rely on character tension and a slow unraveling of what's actually going on, this is right in that wheelhouse.

The meeting runs from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the library's meeting room, and it's free to attend. The branch is at 200 N. Park, San Antonio, TX 78204. Since it's a book club, the whole hour is dedicated to discussing the novel, so come prepared with your thoughts on the plot and the characters. If you've already finished The Fury and want to hear how other readers took it, the Collins Garden Branch Library is the place to be this Wednesday afternoon.
