Chiodos live in concert at The Espee, with special guests Hail the Sun, Emery, and Evergreen Terrace.
Chiodos play The Espee on Wednesday, October 14, as part of their IT'S NOT ME, IT'S YOU Tour. They aren't coming alone, either—Hail the Sun, Emery, and Evergreen Terrace are all on the bill, so it's a full night of bands rather than just one set.
If you're not familiar with the name, Chiodos (pronounced 'chee-OH-dose') started out as the Chiodos Bros., a sextet that formed in high school in Davison, Michigan, just outside Flint. They took their name from an obscure 1980s horror movie term. Their sound is a bit of a melting pot: punk energy, metal riffing, melodic instincts, piano tinkering, and the occasional electronic beat. It's the kind of mix that doesn't fit neatly into one genre, and they've cited Saves the Day, At the Drive-In, and Queen as influences.
The tour itself is billed as a rock revival built around the group's punk rock anthems, thunderous beats, and powerful vocals. With three other bands on the lineup, it's a long night of music rather than a quick stop. Hail the Sun, Emery, and Evergreen Terrace will all play before Chiodos takes the stage.
