Family-friendly Halloween event at the San Antonio Botanical Garden with a trick-or-treat trail, hands-on education stations and fall concessions.
BOOtanica is back at the San Antonio Botanical Garden on Saturday, October 17, from 9 AM to 1 PM. It's the Garden's annual family-friendly Halloween event, one of several ways they lean into the spooky season. The morning is built around a trick-or-treat trail that winds through the grounds, with nature-themed education stations along the way. At each stop, educators help kids explore a botanical theme through hands-on activities, and fall concessions round out the morning.
If you're already planning to be there, it's worth knowing that BOOtanica is just one part of what's happening on the grounds this time of year. The Garden also stages the Jardín de las Catrinas, which runs from mid-September through early November and brings eight larger-than-life Catrinas and more than 10,000 marigolds to the grounds. BOOtanica pairs those floral displays with family-friendly activities on select October days, so you can see the Catrinas and the marigolds while the kids work their way through the trail.
