Roberto Forleo's Dracula, a haunting ballet inspired by Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 film, performed by Ballet San Antonio.
Ballet San Antonio brings Dracula to the H-E-B Performance Hall at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts from Friday, October 23, through Sunday, October 25. The production is choreographed by Roberto Forleo, and it's a ballet inspired by Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 film, Bram Stoker's Dracula. It blends gothic romance with supernatural intrigue, following the Count as he spends centuries searching for his lost love, Elisabeta.
Forleo is a Bari-born performer and choreographer who has danced with Grupo Corpo, Bรฉjart Ballet Lausanne, Rambert Dance Company, and Les Ballets Grandiva. He's worked alongside choreographers like Maurice Bรฉjart, Mats Ek, and Christopher Bruce. Since taking over as Artistic Director of The Florida Ballet in July 2020, he's created ten original works and restaged classics like Les Sylphides, Giselle, and Swan Lake. This Dracula first premiered in 2023, produced with the Jacksonville Symphony.
