Free holiday art sale with handcrafted and unique work by students of the University of Utah's Department of Art & Art History.
The University of Utah's Department of Art & Art History is holding its Holiday Art Sale at the Gittins Gallery from December 2 to 4, 2026. It's a three-day event, and the gallery is open 9 AM to 4 PM each day, so you've got a decent window to swing by whenever fits your schedule.
What you'll find there is a collection of handcrafted, one-of-a-kind work made by the department's students. It's not a curated show with a single theme; it's more of a cross-section of what's coming out of the studios. The department's BFA in Art covers a lot of ground—ceramics, illustration, painting and drawing, photography and digital imaging, printmaking, sculpture intermedia, and book arts—and the sale pulls from all of them. You'll see everything from pottery and prints to paintings and sculpture in one room, and since it's all student work, the styles range from one person's to the next.
One detail that's worth knowing: all the proceeds go directly to support student clubs and organizations. So if you do end up buying something, the money stays within the department to help fund the groups the students run themselves.
