A roast comedy night featuring local comedians, music by punk rock duo Invading Space, and appearances by local politicians, with Mayor Janet Cowell in attendance.
Two Rings Comedy brings the Triangle Roast Battle back to the Transfer Co. Ballroom on Saturday, October 17, and they're billing this one as bigger than ever. The premise is simple: two comedians enter, one leaves, and the other leaves tooβthough one of them leaves a failure. They're armed with nothing but carefully crafted insults and a microphone, and the whole thing is built around roasting each other until only one is left standing.
It's not just the comedians on the bill. Mayor Janet Cowell is set to make an appearance, and the punk rock duo Invading Space will be providing the music. Between the roast, the local politicians in the room, and a punk band on the side, it's a bit of a mix of a comedy show and a downtown party. The night is 18+, so it's not one for the kids.
The venue is the Ballroom at Transfer Co., located at 500 E. Davie St. in the Transfer Co. Food Hall in downtown Raleigh. The Ballroom is a rentable event space designed for everything from luncheons to parties and conferences, and it has full catering access to the food hall and the site's distinct vendors and restaurants. The hall also runs a rotating calendar of live music, pop-ups, artisan markets, and community activities, so there's plenty to eat and drink around the room if you want to make a full evening of it.
