Stand-up comedy show with New York City comedian Jonathan Van Halem at Goodnights Comedy Club.
Jonathan Van Halem is playing Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh on Sunday, November 15, at 7:30 PM. He's a New York City stand-up who spends his days writing for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and he's coming in from the city for a single night.
If you haven't come across him yet, his background is a good place to start. Before the Fallon gig, he worked at Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out The News and contributed to the parody site Clickhole. On stage, he's known for observational comedy and a relatable styleβthe kind of set that finds the funny in the things you've probably noticed yourself but haven't quite put into words. He's opened for David Cross, Rory Scovel, Kevin Nealon, Gianmarco Soresi, Kyle Gordon, and Sabrina Wu, so he's used to sharing the bill with some big names.
Beyond the clubs, he hosts a monthly show at Union Hall in Brooklyn called Hot Gossip, which has been featured in The New York Times and Brooklyn Magazine. His clips routinely pull in millions of views on Instagram and TikTok, so there's a good chance you've seen a snippet of his work on your feed without realizing it. This is a chance to see the full set in person rather than in a short clip.
