A 75-minute song circle using the Unisong method to connect and invite emotional release through song; no prior experience needed.
The Raleigh Song Circle returns to Current Wellness on Friday, Oct 16, from 6:45 to 8 PM. It's a 75-minute Unisong song circle, and the whole point is to sing, connect, and invite emotional release through song. No experience is needed, and all voices are welcome, so you don't have to be a singer to join in.
How it works is pretty straightforward: at the start of each circle, the facilitators ask everyone what their heart longs to sing about. The themes that come up might be connection, grief, change, slowing down, or just wanting to release and be silly. From there, the group builds a list of short, easy-to-learn songs around those themes, and you sing them together with harmonies and woven voices. Because the songs are simple and the list is built from the room, you can jump in without worrying about whether you've got the part right.
This particular session is part of a series, so if you find it works for you, there are two more dates to keep on your radar: Friday, Nov 20, and Friday, Dec 18, both also from 6:45 to 8 PM. It's a good way to keep coming back over the course of the autumn and winter.
