Free outdoor pilates session led by Erica LaGarde at Flowers Field in Dix Park, welcoming all fitness levels.
Pilates in the Park is back at Dix Park on Tuesday, October 27, for one of its final sessions of the year. The class is led by Erica LaGarde and takes place at Flowers Field, 2105 Umstead Dr, Raleigh, NC 27603. It's free to the public, thanks to Dix Park Conservancy donors.
The whole idea is to take your practice outdoors into the natural beauty of Dix Park. The sessions are built around core strength and stability, coordination and flexibility, and they're open to all fitness levels, so you don't need to be a pro to join in. You'll need to bring a fitness mat, a towel and a filled water bottle. Youth aged 12 and over are welcome, and minors must be registered and accompanied by a registered adult.
This particular date is part of a long run that's been going since June. The earlier sessions ran on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:45 PM on June 2, 16, 30, July 14, 28, and August 11 and 25. The later ones shifted slightly earlier, from 5:30 to 6:15 PM, on September 1, September 29, October 6, 13, 20, and 27, with one final session on November 3. The October 27 class falls into that 5:30 to 6:15 PM window.
