EP release party with Over & Over, Random Mother and Field Day.
Over & Over are playing Slim's Downtown on Sunday, October 11, for the release party of their Over & Over EP. It's a double-duty night: they're celebrating the new record and playing a full show around it, so you'll hear the new material live right as it's coming out. The EP shares the band's name, and the release party is the first time these songs are being played as a cohesive set.
They're an emo punk band, and the bill brings in two other local acts to round out the evening. Random Mother opens things up with an alternative set, and Field Day follows with rock, so the night moves from alternative to rock before Over & Over takes the stage. Between the three of them, you've got a fair bit of ground covered across the bill, and the emo punk of the headliners sits right in the middle of it.
If you've been following Over & Over, this is the night the new songs finally get their own space. The Over & Over EP is the focus here, and the release party is built around it, so the set will lean heavily on the new material. It's a good chance to hear the record in a live setting rather than just on your own.

All three bands are on the same bill, and the show runs from 8 PM to 10 PM at Slim's Downtown, 227 S Wilmington St in Raleigh. The music starts at 8 PM, and the whole thing wraps by 10 PM, so it's a Sunday night that gets you home at a decent hour.
