Closing night of the Oak City Comedy Festival featuring a lineup of comedians hosted by Amir Sh at the historic Raleigh Times Bar.
Amir Sh hosts the closing night of the Oak City Comedy Festival at the Raleigh Times Bar on Sunday, October 18. The festival is a stand-up showcase that gathers comedians from across the city, and this final show, titled Good Times at Raleigh Times, brings them together in one room to wrap things up.
The venue itself plays a part in the night. The Raleigh Times Bar is a 100-year-old restored building in downtown Raleigh, and its walls are lined with old press clippings and images from the newspaper that gave it its name. It's a good deal of the city's cultural and political history preserved in the room, and the show leans into that. The comedy runs alongside handcrafted bar fare, an inventive drink menu, and an extensive Belgian beer selection, so you can settle in with a drink and some food before the first comic takes the stage.
