No Experience Necessary with Ronnen Harary

Ronnen Harary is coming to the James B. Hunt Jr. Library in Raleigh on Thursday, October 22, for a talk and Q&A presented by NC State Entrepreneurship. He's the cofounder and chairman of Spin Master, the global children's entertainment company behind names you've almost certainly heard: PAW Patrol, Bakugan, Melissa & Doug, Rubik's Cube, Hatchimals, and Toca Boca. He's spent the last three decades helping shape the toy and children's entertainment industries, and this session is built around his new book, No Experience Necessary.

The talk follows the book's arc, tracing Harary's journey from a young entrepreneur starting out with very little experience to becoming one of Canada's most successful entrepreneurs. It's the kind of story that works whether you're actually building a business or just interested in how someone goes from a small start to a global scale. After he speaks, there's a Q&A session where you can ask him your own questions.

It's open to the public, and if you get there early, there's a nice bonus: the first 100 attendees get a free copy of the book. The talk is at the Hunt Library Auditorium, 1070 Partners Way, Raleigh, NC 27606. Doors open at 5 PM, and the talk and Q&A run from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Parking is free across campus after 5 PM.
