A holiday musical sequel to Pride and Prejudice, following the Bennet sisters at the Darcy estate for Christmas.
Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley opens at the De Ann S. Jones Theatre on December 9, running through December 20. It's a holiday sequel to Pride and Prejudice, written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, and it's part of Theatre Raleigh's 2026 Main Stage Season.
The play is set in 1815 and follows the Bennet sisters as they gather at the Darcy estate for Christmas. While they're there, an unexpected guest arrives, which sparks new romance, witty banter, and a few surprises. It's a festive take on the world Jane Austen built, and the production is billed as a treat for Austen lovers and modern rom-com fans alike. Gunderson and Melcon describe it as full of warmth, wit, and holiday cheer.
If you're not familiar with the original, the story picks up where Pride and Prejudice left off, with the Bennet sisters reuniting at Pemberley for the holidays. The arrival of that surprise guest is what sets the plot in motion, turning a family gathering into a new set of romantic complications. It's a holiday-themed extension of the characters and the world you'd expect from the source material.
