Blues and roots rock night featuring Jeremy Short and Marc Ridge & The Revelers at The Pour House, a 21+ event.
Jeremy Short and Marc Ridge & The Revelers play The Pour House Music Hall & Record Shop on Thursday, October 15. It's a double bill that puts two different takes on the blues on the same stage in one night.
Short comes from the hills of Eastern Kentucky and calls his sound 'Appalachian Space Funk' — a blend of gritty blues, deep funk, and Southern soul. He was named one of the top 30 blues guitarists at the International Blues Challenge, and he's as well known for his look, a fiery orange moustache, as he is for his chops.
Marc Ridge & The Revelers are a three-piece from Lafayette, Indiana, playing a mix of roots rock, blues, and country soul. Ridge wrote songs like 'Ain't a Rich Man', 'I'm So Tired', and 'Beg For Rain' in a DIY home studio, and the band has backed The Black Crowes, The Allman Betts Band, Elvie Shane, and Whey Jennings. Between the two acts, you'll get a full night of blues-rooted music coming from two different parts of the country.
