A hands-on workshop to learn green screen keying and digital effects in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro, leading into the Flash Film Fest.
NC State University Libraries are hosting Green Screen 101, a pop-up workshop at the D.H. Hill Jr. Library on Tuesday, October 13. It runs from 2 PM to 4 PM in the library's Digital Media Lab, and it's free to attend.
The session is a hands-on look at green screen keying and digital effects. You'll work in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro, the two most common professional video editing platforms, to learn how to key out a green screen backdrop and replace it with whatever background you want. If you've ever wondered how those backgrounds get swapped out in professional video, this is where you'll see it happen.
Beyond the technical side, the workshop is set up as a way to meet other people interested in the upcoming Flash Film Fest. It's as much about the community as it is about the software, so it's a good spot to connect with other local filmmakers before the fest kicks off.
