A gleefully gory musical mashup based on the cult classic Evil Dead film series, featuring chainsaws, singing zombies and outrageous comedy.
Evil Dead the Musical is playing at Theatre in the Park in West Raleigh throughout early October. It's a musical mashup based on the Evil Dead film series, with book, lyrics, and music by George Reinblatt. The show pulls in the hallmarks of the movies — chainsaws, singing zombies, and a cabin in the woods — and pairs them with catchy tunes and outrageous comedy. It's described as campy, gory, and absurdly fun, a wild ride full of fake blood that comes with a warning: front-row audience members may get messy.
