A Halloween-themed red wine tasting led by certified sommelier Sara Abernethy, featuring four curated red wines with light bites available to purchase.
The Green Room is hosting Eternal Thirst, a Halloween-themed red wine tasting, on Tuesday, October 27, starting at 5:30 PM. The evening is led by Sara Abernethy, a certified sommelier and local restaurateur who runs Glasshouse Kitchen and Wye Hill. She'll walk guests through four curated red wines, and there will be light bites available to buy throughout the night.
Abernethy's path to the wine world is a bit of a detour. A Raleigh native, she started out as an opera singer and theatre artist before finding her niche in hospitality, living, performing, and pouring across Europe, New York City, and California. She returned home in 2017 to turn a landmark restaurant space into Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing. On the credentials side, she holds a Level 3 Certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and the French Wine Scholar Award.
