Dungeons and Dragons

The Women's Center is hosting a session of Dungeons and Dragons at Talley Student Union on Friday, October 16, from 3 PM to 6 PM. It's a free event, and the center opens it to everyone—from seasoned players who know their way around a character sheet to people who have never even picked up a die.

If you've never played, the session is a good place to start. You'll get to build a character from the ground up and then take that character into a game, so you can see how the whole thing works without having to figure it out on your own first. If you're already a player, it's just another afternoon to get a game in with some new people.

The Women's Center describes the session as a chance to explore magical realms, craft powerful characters, and tell epic stories in a supportive and empowering environment. That's the core of the game: a group of people sitting around a table, imagining a world and deciding together what happens next. The storytelling is the main event, and the dice just help settle the moments where things get uncertain.

It runs from 3 PM to 6 PM at Talley Student Union, 5210 Raleigh, NC 27606, and it's free to attend.
