Special insider screening of the film Dune: Part Three presented at the Marbles IMAX in downtown Raleigh.
Dune: Part Three opens at Marbles IMAX on Tuesday, December 15, with an insider screening at 6 PM. After that, showtimes run through January 6, so you've got a few weeks to catch it on your own schedule.
Billed as the epic conclusion to the trilogy, the story follows Emperor Paul Atreides as he deals with the fallout of his rise to power. Political plots and a galaxy-wide holy war put a future only he can see at risk. It's the final chapter of the saga, so this is where the threads from the first two films finally tie together.
Seeing it at Marbles IMAX makes a difference. It's the only Certified Giant Screen in Raleigh, with a screen measuring around 54 by 70 feet—roughly three stories tall—and IMAX surround sound. For comparison, a standard screen is about 19 by 43 feet, so this is a lot more image and a lot more sound. The theater is in downtown Raleigh at 201 East Hargett Street, and the concession stand stocks candy, nachos, popcorn, soft drinks, ICEEs, and a rotating selection of beer, wine, and seltzers.

Tickets are $14 for adults and $11 for children ages 1 to 11; Marbles members pay the same. Seniors, military, and college students with a valid ID get in for $12. Those prices don't include sales tax, and there's a $1.25 3D glasses fee for all 3D tickets. If you go on a Tuesday, features are half-price. One thing to keep in mind: IMAX tickets are non-refundable, though you can get a credit to your Marbles account if you email them at least 24 hours before showtime.
