Dizgo

Dizgo play Bowstring Pizza and Brewyard on Sunday, October 11, starting at 7 PM. They're a jam band from Bloomington, Indiana, and this is a headlining set, so they'll be the only act on the bill.

The band grew out of attic jam sessions between childhood friends Andrew Pickel and Kevin Hinnefeld, who started with two guitars, a tape recorder, and a dream. The name came to Hinnefeld in a dream before their first gig. They later added Jake Evatt on keys and vocals and Justin Clark on drums, and since then they've become one of the country's premiere touring acts. Critics have called them "one of the most operative names in the jam band scene" and "Indiana's psychedelic powerhouse."

Their sound blends jamtronica with funk, soul, and psychedelic rock. Their 2024 album Melt channels the energy they build between the band and the crowd. They've played sets at Peach Music Festival, Summer Camp, Secret Dreams, Domefest, and Sonic Bloom, and have opened for Goose, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, lespecial, and Dogs in a Pile.

It's a Sunday night show at Bowstring Pizza and Brewyard, 1930 Wake Forest Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608, starting at 7 PM. Admission is free.
