A maker-space gathering where crafters bring their own projects to work on while socialising with fellow enthusiasts at Wolfe & Porter.
Craft Night is back at Wolfe & Porter this Wednesday, October 14, as part of a weekly series that runs every Wednesday from July 29 through December 30. It's a maker-space gathering run by the bar itself, and the whole thing is built around a pretty simple idea: you bring whatever craft project you're working on and spend the evening chipping away at it while hanging out with other people doing the same. Whether you're halfway through a knitting project, working on a sketchbook, or just starting something new, you bring your supplies and find a spot to settle in.
Wolfe & Porter is a downtown Raleigh bar known for its extensive beer and wine list and its craft cocktails, so you've got plenty to sip on while you work. If you're more of a bourbon person, the venue also has The Cellar, which stocks a wide range of bourbons and hosts its own private and public events. The bar keeps its week full with a variety of other regulars, from live music and karaoke to game nights, so Craft Night is just one of several reasons to drop by during the week.
It's a low-pressure way to get some work done without the isolation of staying home. You can focus on your own project and still be around other people, and if you feel like chatting, there are plenty of fellow crafters to talk shop with. If you're looking for a mid-week spot to make some progress on whatever you've got on your workbench, this is a good place to do it.
