Special Event: Christian Johnson

Christian Johnson is headlining Goodnights Comedy Club on Sunday, November 15, at 7 PM. If you've spent any time on social media over the last few years, you've probably run into him without even realizing it. He's the face behind the viral 'Uncle Nathaniel' videos, and he also posts as 'Mr. Lord Have Mer-Say'—two personas that together have built him a following of more than 2.5 million followers across his platforms. This is a full stand-up set, though, not a character piece.

Johnson is a rising name in stand-up, and he describes his own work as clean comedy. He's known for a high-energy stage presence and a style that doesn't lean on shock value or raunchy material, which makes it the kind of show you can bring a wide range of people to. He's shared the stage with plenty of celebrity comics and has performed both across the country and internationally, so this isn't his first time in front of a crowd.

If you're coming from the internet side of things, it's a good chance to see how the viral clips translate to a live room. The 'Uncle Nathaniel' character is what first put him on the map, and that same energy carries over into his stand-up. Between the two personas, he's built a massive online presence, but this is the live show where he steps out from behind the screen.

Tickets start at $33, and the show is at Goodnights Comedy Club, 401 Woodburn Rd in Midtown Raleigh. It runs at 7 PM on Sunday, November 15.
