Hands-on art workshop with Italian artists Roberto and Rodolfo Guarnieri exploring sketching, watercolor, and fresco painting.
Studio Iguarnieri is bringing a hands-on art workshop to The Chapel at Dix Park on Monday, October 26, and Wednesday, October 28. Both sessions run from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, so you can pick one night or come for both. The workshop is led by Roberto and Rodolfo Guarnieri, the Italian artists who co-founded Studio Iguarnieri in Florence.
They're teaching three different mediums: sketching, watercolor, and fresco painting. You'll work through guided instruction and hands-on exercises in each, and the goal is to build your artistic confidence and walk away with an original work of art. The sessions run an hour and a half, and you'll be working alongside the Guarnieris the whole time. They bring the same creative approach to these workshops that they use in their Florentine studio, so it's a chance to learn from people who do this for a living.
It helps to know who's leading it: Roberto Guarnieri is an architect, and Rodolfo Guarnieri is a maestro d'arte. Together they run Studio Iguarnieri in Florence, and they're the ones guiding you through the sketching, the watercolor, and the fresco. If you've never touched a fresco before, this is a good place to startโit's a traditional Italian technique that doesn't often make it into local workshops.
