Symposium on the use of artificial intelligence in organizational hiring practices and job search activities, bringing together academic, legal and industry experts.
The AI in Hiring Symposium is coming to the Plant Sciences Building on Tuesday, October 13, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. It's a full-day event, so if you're planning to stay for the whole thing, you'll want to clear your calendar for the day. The symposium is hosted by the Department of Sociology and Anthropology on Centennial Campus and is funded by the NC State University Foundation.
The day is built around one specific question: how is artificial intelligence changing the way people get hired? It brings together academic, legal, and industry experts to look at the growing use of AI in organizational hiring practices, and it doesn't stop there—it also examines how workers are using AI in their own job-search activities. The goal is to synthesize and share insights across those different sectors, so you'll hear from people on both sides of the hiring table.
Steve McDonald is presenting, and the event is open to students, alumni, the general public, staff, faculty, and postdocs. It's not just for people working in HR or tech; if you've ever applied for a job or wondered what happens to your resume after you hit submit, this is right up your alley. Registration is available, so you'll want to sign up ahead of time.
