Victorious Festival

Victorious Festival returns to Southsea Common from 28 to 30 August 2026, three days of music and more right on the seafront. It's one of the UK's largest metropolitan festivals, and it's built around being family-friendly, so it's as much for taking the kids along as it is for spending the whole weekend with your mates.

Beyond the main stages, there's a fair bit to wander through. The World Music Village brings in sounds from across the globe, there are dedicated comedy areas, and children's zones to keep the little ones occupied. The food is local, too, with a good spread of Portsmouth vendors across the site. It's the kind of festival where you can drift between the music, the comedy, and the food without ever really leaving the common.

The site itself is a bit of a local landmark. Southsea Common sits right by the water, and the festival area incorporates some of the city's history: Southsea Castle, built by Henry VIII in 1544, and the D-Day Museum are both part of the landscape. It's a spot most of us know well, but it feels different when it's filled with stages and crowds for a long weekend.

There's a bit of history to the festival, too. It started back in 2012 as the Victorious Vintage Festival over at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, before moving to its current home on the seafront in 2014. Since then, it's grown into a major event for the city, bringing in a significant economic boost for the region. There's also a charitable side to it: Victorious in the Community supports local causes, so some of the festival's impact stays right here in Portsmouth.

One practical thing to keep in mind: it's a car-free site, so you'll need to plan your travel in advance rather than driving onto the common. The festival runs from 28 to 30 August 2026 at Southsea Common.
