Triple Booklaunch

Loree Westron, Richard Salsbury and Helen Salsbury are sharing a stage at Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 24 October, each bringing a new novel to the table. It's a triple book launch, so you'll get three authors in one evening rather than chasing them across separate dates. They'll be talking about their craft and reading from their work, with live music from local musicians running alongside.

Helen Salsbury's The Worry Bottles follows Naomi, an idealistic businesswoman who bottles up her worries and casts them into the Bristol Channel, and Matthew, an artist living alone on an island who finds them. Richard Salsbury's A Danger of Books imagines a timeline where novels, films and music have been hamstrung by copyright law, drawing Josh into an underworld of illegal artistic appreciation. Loree Westron, an American author, brings A Legacy of Earth and Sky, a braided family saga set in the western United States, inspired by historical events and exploring fatherlessness, identity and belonging.

Between the readings, the authors will talk through how they work, and the live music fills the gaps. There's a bar and light snacks available throughout, so it's as much a social night as a literary one. One thing to keep in mind: no cameras or tablets are allowed inside, so you'll have to leave the phone in your pocket and just listen.

It starts at 6.30pm on Saturday 24 October at Portsmouth Guildhall, and tickets are absolutely free with no booking fee.
