The Ultimate Bubble Show

The Ultimate Bubble Show comes to Portsmouth Guildhall on Monday 26 October, with two performances on the one day: one at 12:00 and another at 14:00. It's a daytime thing, so it works well if you've got kids in tow or just fancy something to do before the working week really kicks in.

The show is built around Ray Bubbles, an international bubbleologist and world record holder. He works with different gases to craft bubble sculptures and effects, and the set lists a few of the things you'll see: a bubble volcano, a soap bubble carousel, a bubble ghost, and a tornado inside a bubble. He describes his ongoing mission as mastering the art of bubble-making, with the ultimate square bubble as the goal.

There's a bit of history to how the show came together, too. It grew out of his work with SEND schools, adult neurodivergent groups, and science centres across Europe, and it's suitable for children and adults with additional needs. That background explains why it's a daytime show rather than a late one.

Before you head down, a couple of house rules: no cameras or tablets are allowed inside, and you can't bring in external food or drink, except for medical needs. Tickets are between £12.30 and £14.60, which includes a 13% booking fee. With the two start times, 12:00 and 14:00, you can pick the one that fits your day best.
