Tribute show by local band Is This Strokes celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Strokes' debut album, Is This It.
Is This Strokes play Kola on Friday 31 July, a tribute night marking the 25th anniversary of The Strokes' debut album, Is This It. They're joined by local band Blue Harbour.
The set is built around Is This It, which they'll play in its entirety, followed by a selection of the band's fan favourites. It's a full run-through of the record that put the New York five on the map back in 2001, so if that's the one you still keep on repeat, you'll hear it from start to finish.
Is This Strokes describe themselves as the ultimate tribute to The Strokes, and they've built their act around the raw energy and indie-rock vibes of the 2000s. That means the genre-defining guitar riffs and Julian Casablancas' signature vocals are the things they're aiming for. All the band's members come from Portsmouth and Southampton, so it's a local line-up taking on one of the biggest names in modern indie.
