Sally-Anne Hayward

Sally-Anne Hayward is playing The Lens Studio at Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 3 October, with the show starting at 8.00pm. It's a solo stand-up night, so she's the only name on the bill.

If you haven't come across her yet, Hayward is an award-winning comedian and co-host of the Spit Or Swallow podcast. She's won Best MC at the Comic's Comic Awards and was an ARIA nominee for Best Radio Comedy in 2024, so she's as comfortable working a room as she is behind a mic. Much of her recent work has been on Radio 4, and she's spent time on the road providing UK and international tour support for Sarah Millican, which gives you a fair idea of the company she keeps.

The reviews have been consistently warm. The Independent called her 'exceptionally funny', while Chortle and The Scotsman both went with 'hilarious' — the kind of broad, high-praise descriptions that usually point to a reliable night out. Between the radio work, the podcast, and the touring, she's built a bit of a profile before landing here in Portsmouth.
