A safe and friendly skating session for toddlers under 5 years old to develop balance and coordination, sponsored by Micro Scooters.
Pitt St. Skatepark is running its Roller Tots sessions for under-fives, and the next one is this Thursday 24 September. It's sponsored by Micro Scooters, and the whole thing is set up as a way for toddlers to get a taste of skating in a safe, friendly environment. The focus is on helping them find their balance and coordination, and it's as much about parents and children bonding as it is about the skating itself.
It's not a one-off, either. Roller Tots is a year-round fixture, so if you can't make this one, there are plenty more to choose from. After 24 September, the sessions run every Thursday on 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 October, and then 5, 12, 19 and 26 November. That's nine more dates through the autumn, so you can take the little ones along once or a few times over the next couple of months.
One thing to keep in mind is that the sessions move during the holidays. When they're not at the skatepark, they shift over to the 'Temple Of Wheels' roller rink, so it's worth checking where they're based if you're planning a trip during the school breaks.
