Red Rum Club

Red Rum Club play Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday 14 October, with doors opening at 7.00pm. The Liverpool sextet have built a sound they call 'Mariachi Merseybeat', a description that does a fair bit of the heavy lifting: it's the brassy, Latin-inflected side of their writing meeting the melodic, guitar-led pop of their Merseyside roots. It's a sound that's taken them from the North West to Mexico, and the Portsmouth date is part of that same trajectory.

2025 was a big year for them. They spent a good chunk of it on the road, playing UK arena and European tour dates with The Wombats, and appearing at Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Tramlines and YNOT. Their biggest local show came at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, where 11,000 fans turned up. In September they released BUCK (Modern Sky UK), their second top-ten album, and signed a licensing deal with New York/LA-based label Avenue A to promote it across the Americas. That was followed by a sold-out UK headline tour and their biggest North American tour to date.

2026 has kept that momentum going. They've already played the #HAPPENS event in Las Vegas and performed in front of more than 100 US radio programmers. Later this year they're set to headline ON THE WATERFRONT at Pier Head in Liverpool, a 12,000-capacity show that would be their biggest headline date to date. The Portsmouth night sits in the middle of all that, with the band bringing the same set they've been playing across the UK and the US.

Tickets are £30.25, which includes a 17% booking fee. The night is for ages 14 and over, with under-14s admitted if accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 7.00pm, and the band takes the stage later that evening.
