A family-friendly car boot sale where the public can sell pre-used goods directly to buyers, with profits donated to local charities.
The Portsmouth and Southsea Car Boot Sale is back for 2026, with the first date on Sunday 12 July at Duisburg Way. It's a regular part of the council's summer timetable, and this year there are six dates in total: 12, 19 and 26 July, and 6, 20 and 27 September. It's run by Portsmouth City Council, and the whole thing is weather-dependent, so it's worth checking the forecast before you set off.
It's a family-friendly setup, and the point is simple: people selling pre-used goods directly to buyers. It's not a market for businesses, so you'll find plenty of household clear-outs rather than professional stalls. If you're selling, the pitch prices depend on how you arrive: £5 for walk-ons, £10 for a car, SUV, 4x4 or small van, and £15 for a transit van, campervan or any vehicle with a trailer. The sale is at Duisburg Way, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO5 3SB.
