PortSmash 100 Mayor's Cup is at the Portsmouth Bengali Sporting Club on Sunday 6 September. It's a badminton tournament staged by the club as part of Portsmouth100, the city's year-round programme of events and activities marking its centenary.
There's more to it than just the competition on the day. The tournament sets out to promote physical and mental well-being and to inspire young people from all backgrounds by putting visible role models on display. It also aims to foster a sense of belonging for minority youth through sport, with the club framing diversity in participation as a key ingredient of Portsmouth's success.
