Oh What a Night!

Oh What a Night! comes to Portsmouth Guildhall on Thursday 24 September, a musical tribute to the career of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. The show is performed by a cast of West End singers, and it works its way through the group's long run of hits: 'Sherry', 'Let's Hang On', 'Big Girls Don't Cry', 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You', 'My Eyes Adored You', 'December 63 (Oh What A Night)', 'Bye Bye Baby', 'Who Loves You', and plenty more. The set is built around those songs, and the performance brings together the vocals, harmonies, and choreography that defined the group's sound.

It's a broad look at a career that spans decades. Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons sold more than 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, so there's a deep catalogue to draw from. The show leans on that, mixing the early 60s hits with the later ones, and it's put together by West End performers rather than a cover band, which explains the focus on the harmonies and the choreography.

The cast consists of Nick Corre, Alex Jordan-Mills, Ian Curran and Jonathan Eio, all from the West End. They describe the show as combining infectious personalities, voices, harmonies and choreography, and it's aimed at anyone who knows the songs, from the early pop hits to the later ballads. It's a general audience show, and under-14s need to be accompanied by an adult over 18.

Doors open at 19:00, and the show starts then, too. If you want to arrive early, the Square Kitchen and the bars are open from 18:15. Tickets are £34.35, which includes a 17% booking fee.
