Mike and the Mechanics play Portsmouth Guildhall on Tuesday 8 June 2027, as part of a ten-date UK tour. The band started in 1985 as a side project of Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford and grew into a live act over four decades, with hits like 'The Living Years', 'All I Need Is A Miracle' and 'Over My Shoulder'.
After a five-year hiatus, Rutherford brought the band back in 2010 with a new line-up: Andrew Roachford, Tim Howar, Luke Juby, Anthony Drennan and Gary Wallis. Since regrouping, they've recorded three albums, two of which reached the UK top 10, and played 374 shows. Drummer Nic Collins joined in 2023, and Rutherford has called this the longest-standing line-up the band has ever had.
