It's a wide-reaching set. They're pulling from across their career, and there's a good chance you'll hear new songs from their next album, which is due out next year. The band has been going for over 40 years now, with a global following that's stayed with them through the decades. Steve Hogarth, the band's singer, put it plainly: "We've always said there's nothing like playing live in the UK. The emotional energy at these shows is usually pretty extraordinary. I'd buy a ticket to watch the audience, if I couldn't do it for free."
On the practical side, doors open at 19:00, but if you're arriving early, The Square Kitchen and the bars are open from 18:15. Tickets range from £67.10 to £90.50, which includes a 17% booking fee, and there's a limit of eight per transaction. They're personal and non-transferable, so any unauthorised resale will get you turned away at the door. It's an all-ages show, though under-14s need to be accompanied by an adult over 18.
There are a few house rules to keep in mind: no cameras or tablets, and no outside food or drink unless it's for medical needs. If you're fancying a bit more than just the gig, the venue does hospitality packages, pre-show dinners — there's a Charcuterie Board Package — and drinks you can book in advance, all available up to 24 hours before the show. Discounted parking can be reserved online or at the box office. The Guildhall also has access guides and services to make sure the night is inclusive.
