Functional fitness racing series featuring ten functional exercises and runs, suitable for all fitness levels from beginners to experienced athletes.
MacTuffX comes to the Mountbatten Centre on Sunday 23 August, from 10:30 to 14:30. It's a functional fitness race, and Portsmouth is one of more than 30 venues across nearly 30 cities in the UK series, which runs from the English South Coast up to Aberdeenshire in Scotland.
The format is built for a broad mix: HYROXers, CrossFitters and total beginners. You can take it on solo, with a partner or as part of a crew. The course weaves ten functional exercises between the runs: snatches, walking lunges, devil press, overhead carries, kettlebell deadlifts, burpee broad jumps, slamball ground-to-overhead, Zercher carries and slamball sit-ups. The running distance depends on which version you enter: ten 400m runs for the X and ten 800m runs for the 2X.
There are Standard and LITE weight divisions for men and women, so you can pick the weight that suits you. A season-long leaderboard tracks everyone's results and progress across the series, and they provide dedicated training plans to help you prepare for race day.
Every week we pick ๐ the 5 best ๐ things to do in Portsmouth and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
