Legendary Yes vocalist Jon Anderson performs with The Band Geeks in a concert of Yes classics and epics.
Jon Anderson is playing Portsmouth Guildhall on Tuesday 8 September, performing with The Band Geeks in a show called YES Epics, Classics & More. For anyone who knows the name, Anderson was the lead singer and a songwriter for Yes, and the set draws from that catalogue. He co-wrote songs like 'I’ve Seen All Good People', 'Roundabout' and 'Owner Of A Lonely Heart', and sang on albums like Fragile and long pieces like 'Close to the Edge' and 'Awaken'.

The Band Geeks started as the house band for the Band Geek podcast, run by Richie Castellano, who also played in Blue Öyster Cult. They built their following on YouTube by recreating songs from Queen, Toto, Black Sabbath and Yes, and they've gathered over 30 million views doing it. The current line-up is Richie Castellano on bass and guitar, Chris Clark on keyboards, Andy Ascolese on drums, Phil Castellano on keyboards and guitar, and Matt Beck Graziano on guitar.
Anderson describes the first time he heard them as a bit of a shock: 'The first time I heard the BAND GEEKS I truly freaked out – they sound just like the classic YES of the seventies, the YES that I know and love… AND THAT’S WHAT I’M WANTING TO BRING TO YOU ON THIS TOUR….YES MUSIC IS FOREVER!!!!!!'.
