Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds comes to Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday 28 October, with doors opening at 6.30pm. It's the original double album brought back to the stage as a concert rendition, presented by Kilimanjaro Live. The music is performed by West End artists, a live band, an orchestra and animation, so it's a full ensemble rather than a single act.
Wayne has described this particular version as a first of its kind on British shores. He steps back from the podium and strips away the spectacle of his arena tours to let the music speak for itself, positioning the production as a true companion to those larger-scale tours.
