Faces and Places of Pompey

Faces and Places of Pompey opens at The Keppel's Head Hotel on Monday 28 September, running through to Friday 2 October. It's a free exhibition of 100 photographs by local photographer Penny Plimmer, and it's part of the Portsmouth100 celebrations marking the city's centenary year.

The collection is a tribute to the city's unsung heroes, with 100 photographs of Portsmouth and its people on the walls. It was put together by Portsmouth Business Exchange, a not-for-profit networking group for local businesses, so it's a local project through and through. The hotel is on The Hard, right by the water, and the exhibition runs Monday to Friday, so you can drop in during the working week.

There's a bit more to it than just looking, too. You can still sponsor individual photographs, and all the money raised goes to Connors Toy Library. They've been supporting families for more than 50 years, giving children the toys, space and support they need to play, learn and grow. If you're going, it's worth keeping that in mind—you can see the work and put something toward a local cause at the same time.

It's free to enter, so there's no ticket or booking needed. The Keppel's Head Hotel is on The Hard, and the exhibition runs from Monday 28 September to Friday 2 October.
