Cosham Fire Station Open Day

Cosham Fire Station is opening its doors on Saturday 26 September, from 10am until 4pm, for a family open day. It's a chance to see the station from the inside and meet the emergency service teams who work there, with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service running the day.

If you've got kids in tow, the main draw is getting inside the fire engines and taking in the equipment the crews use on call. It's the kind of thing that's usually kept behind closed doors, so it's a rare look at the kit they actually carry out to jobs. Alongside that, they're putting on plenty of activities for visitors throughout the day, so it's not just a quick walk-through.

There's a bit of context to the day, too: the station on Northern Road only opened in 2024, so this is one of its first public open days since it started operating. It's a good excuse to see how the new site is set up and meet the teams based there.

It runs from 10am until 4pm on Saturday 26 September at Cosham Fire Station, Northern Road, Portsmouth.
