An evening of music and comedy as Boothby Graffoe teams up with guitarist Antonio Forcione to perform their musical comedy album 'Wot Italian?'.
Boothby Graffoe and Antonio Forcione are playing The Lens Studio at Portsmouth Guildhall on Sunday 11 October, starting at 7:30pm. They're performing their musical comedy album Wot Italian?, which is now almost twenty years old.
When it first came out, the duo sold out every night of their Edinburgh Festival run, earned critical acclaim and toured the UK and internationally, from Australia to Barbados. They picked up an Award for Excellence at the Adelaide Comedy Festival along the way. The show is billed as a collision of Graffoe's sharp wit and whimsical storytelling with Forcione's virtuosic guitar mastery, mixing crafted songs, banter and musicianship across an eclectic range of genres.
Graffoe is an award-winning comedian and singer-songwriter; Forcione is an internationally acclaimed Italian acoustic guitarist. The two bring together comedy and music rather than one acting as a side to the other, and Wot Italian? is the record that holds them together. Hearing it live means the songs are played straight through, with the banter and storytelling filling the gaps in between.
