A shared social bingo extravaganza with traditional bingo, dance-offs, rave intervals and audience participation.
Bongo's Bingo is coming to Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday 25 September, and if you've never heard of it, it's not your nan's Tuesday night bingo. It's a shared social extravaganza that takes the basic idea of bingo and builds a whole night around it, with dance-offs, rave intervals and audience participation mixed in between the numbers. The bingo is the thread that holds it together, but the gaps are where the real chaos happens.
They describe it as a crazy mix of traditional bingo, dance-offs, rave intervals, audience participation and magical moments. It's an immersive, inclusive night with no barriers or limits, welcoming everyone from 18 to 92 to play and party together. The whole thing is built as a night of nostalgic escapism, and it's currently running in almost 50 locations around the world, so this is one of the many stops on its global tour.
One of the things that sets it apart is the prizes. They're iconic and range from the genuinely useful to the completely absurd: giant pink unicorns, Henry Hoovers, mobility scooters and karaoke machines are all on the table. It's as much about what you might win as it is about the game itself.
