Big Shot comes to Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday 30 October, billed as the UK's biggest darts party. It's a far cry from a quiet night down the local, and the organisers don't hide that: they describe it as 'Project X met your favourite pub sport and absolutely lost the plot'.
The night is built around a mix of mad prizes, singalong anthems, dance-offs, and huge inflatables. There's dartboard bingo, a 'Battle of the Queens (Drag Edition)', Guys vs Gals rounds, and competitions that run all night. The running joke of the evening is a race to see what happens first: a darts player hitting a 501, or a mate trying to eat ten Big Macs dressed as the Tooth Fairy. It's less of a tournament and more of a party that happens to have darts at its centre.
There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you book. The show is for ages 18 and over, and no cameras or tablets are allowed inside, so you'll be leaving the phone in your pocket for this one.
