Zoe FitzGerald Carter & Jason Luckett

Zoe FitzGerald Carter and Jason Luckett play Artichoke Community Music on Thursday, October 15, with Lewis Childs opening. It's a double bill where each artist plays their own set of original songs, and Jason backs Zoe on harmonies and lead guitar when she's out front.

Carter is an award-winning author turned singer-songwriter from Berkeley, California, known for a deep honey voice and literary lyrics. She's been touring both coasts since her 2024 album Before the Machine, which looks back at a pre-smartphone world. The title track won best song in the Corpus Christi Songwriters Contest, and "Let's Just Stay Friends" was voted best song by the International Acoustic Music Awards. She's already announced a new album, Chaos By Design, for mid-2026.

Luckett is a Los Angeles-based artist who describes his sound as "groovy acoustic soul," drawing from Laurel Canyon, Brazil, NYC, Irvine, and the Miracle Mile. The two met while playing an Aretha Franklin and Smokey Robinson tribute show in Cambria, California, and have shared stages since in L.A., Morro Bay, Ojai, and Vancouver, Washington, where they played an official showcase at the FAR-West music conference.

Lewis Childs opens the night. The show starts at 7 PM, with doors opening at 6:30 PM, at Artichoke Community Music, 2007 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR 97202. Tickets start from $23.36.
