Folk pop concert by Yana, with special guest Emma Andersen, at Holocene.
Yana plays Holocene on Friday, October 23, as part of The Feelings Are Forever Tour. The Portland date is presented by Monqui and is open to all ages.
If you haven't come across her yet, Yana is a Bulgarian-born, California-raised singer and songwriter who works in folk pop. She started releasing music independently in 2021, and her 2022 debut EP, Hindsight, brought her some recognition for its poignant pop lyricism and emotive melodies. The tour title, The Feelings Are Forever, fits that description well enough—the songs lean into the kind of songwriting that puts the lyrics and the melody front and center.
