A family-friendly screening of the 1991 horror-comedy film 'The Addams Family' as part of the Vintage Spooky Halloween film series at The Whitsell.
PAM CUT is bringing its Vintage Spooky series back to The Whitsell in downtown Portland this October, and the family-friendly screening of The Addams Family (1991) falls on Sunday, October 11. It's part of a larger run of old-school horror and cult cinema that PAM CUT has turned into a regular Halloween tradition here in the city.
That particular screening is just one stop in a full month of films. The lineup includes The Thing, Don't Look Now, and The Shining, alongside a David Lynch weekend featuring Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, and Lost Highway. The whole thing wraps up on Halloween night with a screening of Night of the Living Dead (1968). If you're looking for something you can bring kids to, The Addams Family is the one that fits the bill.
There's more to these afternoons than just the movies, too. PAM CUT pairs the screenings with extracurricular activities: post-film discussions, flower-arranging courses, and Monster Mash craft-making. It's less of a simple cinema trip and more of a full afternoon spent around the films, and you can pick and choose which parts to stick around for.
