Jimmy Shin headlines The Shindig Show at the Mission Theater on Wednesday, November 25, at 8 PM. It's a pre-holiday comedy show, and Shin is the main feature, backed by a lineup of stand-up comedians. The whole thing is part of the West End Entertainment District in downtown Portland.
If you've never been, the Mission is one of McMenamins' neighborhood theater pubs. It started as a church for the Swedish Mission Covenant congregation in the early 20th century, with the Swedish Evangelical Mission establishing its church there in the 1890s. It still looks the part—buttoned-up and a bit staid from the outside—but inside it's a live room that hosts music, video dance nights, and special events on select nights each month. It holds around 300 standing and 200 seated, with a mezzanine that wraps around three sides, so you're never too far from the stage.
