The Blasting Company performs their live concert of the animated miniseries Over the Garden Wall at the Wonder Ballroom.
The Blasting Company bring their Over the Garden Wall show to Wonder Ballroom on Monday, October 19. It's a live performance of the music from the animated miniseries, and if you've spent any autumns with that show, you know the score is half the reason it sticks.
The Blasting Company is the Nashville duo of brothers Joshua Kaufman and Justin Rubenstein. They started as a street band and grew into a composing pipeline that pulls from American folk, Eastern European influences, grand orchestral tendencies, and modern sensibilities. A lot of their work lands in film and television, and Over the Garden Wall was their first and most notable scoring venture—one that's since become a seasonal staple worldwide. They've also scored Burlesque, the New York Times/Serial podcast The Kids of Rutherford County, and Adult Swim's The Elephant, and they put together a three-album soundtrack for the tabletop RPG The Crooked Moon. Recent collaborations have brought in Tom Kenny, Haley Reinhart, Jemaine Clement, and Van Dyke Parks.
These live Over the Garden Wall concerts started with 10th-anniversary shows in LA back in 2024. They play with a super-band of multi-instrumentalists, including the California Feetwarmers, most of whom played on the original soundtrack. So when you hear these songs live, a good part of the sound is coming from the people who actually recorded them.
