Concert by the indie rock band Spanish Love Songs on their The Cost of Living Tour, with special guests Kali Masi and Old Cross.
Spanish Love Songs play Holocene on Tuesday, November 24, as part of The Cost of Living Tour. They're bringing along Kali Masi and Old Cross to open the night, so it's a full bill rather than just a single set.
If you're not familiar, the band formed in Los Angeles in 2013 and spent their early years playing intimate club shows. Their discography has grown steadily since then: Schmaltz came out in 2018, Brave Faces Everyone followed in 2020, and No Joy arrived in 2023. This tour is built around their fourth LP, Future Nausea, which is the record they're out supporting right now.
That new album carries a lot of weight. The lyrics grapple with political violence, climate anxiety, and late-stage capitalism, but they hold those things up against the resilience found in love and companionship. It's a record that doesn't shy away from the heavy stuff, and the live set will be the place to hear those songs played out in full.
